National unification festival to be held in central Quang Tri province

The national unification festival celebrating 35 years of the southern liberation will be held on April 30th and May 1st 2010 on the two banks of the Hien Luong river in the central Quang Tri province.

The information was announced by the festival organizing board at a press brief on April 6th at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The national festival will be held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Quang Tri provincial People’s Committee to welcome the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi.

A special art performance will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television, Hanoi Television and Ho Chi Minh Television on the evening of April 30th.

According to Nguyen Huu Thang, director of the Quang Tri provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, representatives and mass artistic troupes from provinces will pay tribute at the Truong Son and Route 9 martyrs’ cemeteries; and visit historical relics in Quang Tri province.
